July 4th, my first US independence day in the US.
My amazing friend and colleague June Dillinger invited me to do an Early morning photoshoot in Lanikai beach.
She picked me up 5am and we headed off while it was still dark. To reach Lanikai beach from Waikiki you drive along the magnificent Pali Highway.
We reached Lanikai in good time before the couple arrived, so I had time to take a few test shoots with my new equipment (two 600ex-rt flashes).
The sky was clear, with just a few clouds in the horizon, creating a perfect sunrise.
Couple arrived with some guests. They had all arrived from New Zealand to have a weeks holiday and a wedding in Oahu.
Ceremony was beautiful and I got to take some nice shots. I was using my 85 1.2 II L and 24-70 2.8 L. Two camera bodies, both with a flash.
Flashes were just mandatory in this case, shooting against a bright sun. Strong backlight. The flashes worked flawlessly, slthough in some occasions they too a while to recycle, when using full power flash. But fast overall and very pleased with them.
People were beautiful, photos came out nice and we also got a visiting cute doggie and a huge bumble bee in a few of the shots :)

After the photoshoot it was time to pack and ready for a trip to Europe!!!!
